If you would like to discuss contraception or would like to be given contraception please make an appointment with one of the Doctors. This service is completely confidential.
Prescriptions for contraception are free.
All GPs and the Practice Nurse provide family planning advice and care. Dr Ahuja is the GP that provides coil fittings and implants.
Everyone taking oral contraception (the pill) needs to be seen every 6 months by the Practice Nurse for a pill check.
The practice provides a comprehensive family planning service including:
- Condom distribution
- Prescribing of oral contraception (the pill)
- Fitting of coils (including the mirena coil)
- Fitting of Implants
- Giving contraception by injection (depo-provera)
- Prescribing of Emergency Contraception – please arrange to see a doctor or the practice nurse as soon as possible if you require this (this must be within a maximum of 72 hours)
